Four new Affiliated Shows have been added to the BPA Show Calendar for 2015

 

The Wayland Agricultural Show  near Watton in Norfolk is organised by the Wayland Agricultural Society Community Interest Company. The Society is run by a voluntary committee who work with lots of supporters throughout the year to organise the Show and other fundraising events It is described as a one-day agricultural show for all the family.  Main ring events plus varied attractions around the showground.  Cattle, sheep and pigs plus heavy horses, shetlands and a  horse show. It also is somewhat unique in that all the champions of all the competitions compete in the main ring with  everything from cakes to heavy horses and pigs to racing pigeons being judged against each other. www.waylandshow.com

 

The Chertsey Show in Surrey is organised by the Chertsey Agricultural Association which was founded in 1833 when a group of local farmers and landowners, who met at local ploughing matches, decided to form the C.A.A.  This was to encourage a more widespread knowledge of, and to improve the use of, agricultural techniques in arable and livestock farming. It is described as the only remaining traditional Agricultural Show within the M25!  The Chertsey Show is a fantastic trip out for the whole family with arena events all day, a whole range of different farm and domestic animals, horticultural and floral tents, traditional crafts and many stalls to browse.  And that’s not all!  Attached to the main show is the Chertsey Horse Show and Dog Show, both with their own rings holding competitions and displays all day. www.chertseyshow.co.uk

 

The Egham Royal Show in Surrey is organised by the Egham & Thorpe Royal Agricultural & Horticultural Association and is now in its 156th year. It is described as a small town show with lots of family entertainment; livestock, traction engines, crafts, archery, horticulture, hobbies, vintage machinery, veteran and classic cars show, model engineering, rides for children and teenagers, live action arena entertainment, cage birds, poultry, dog show, and a new live music festival.   www.eghamroyalshow.org.uk

 

 

The Edenbridge and Oxted Show in Surrey has been celebrating the country way of life since 1837. The show is organised by a team of volunteers organised by the Show Council, all working towards the common aims of the charity :  to support agriculture, especially developing the industry’s next generation and to educate the public about farming. It is described as a traditional 2-day agricultural show with hundreds of cattle, sheep, goats, llamas and pigs.  Millers Ark Farm Animals.  HOYS qualifiers for riding horses, ridden, ladies and working hunters.  Four-in-hand coaching class, scurry, hackneys, private driving.  Country sports area including gun dogs, agility dogs, rifle range, archery, companion dog show, terrier show, terrier racing and clay shoot.  300 shops and trade stands including crafts.  Spectacular horticultural marquee.  Vintage tractors and farm machinery.  Vintage and classic cars.  Children's amusements.  Creche.  Refreshments and licensed bars.  Two full days' of entertainment with something for all the family.  6 miles south of junction 6 off M25, clearly signposted. www.edenbridge-show.co.uk
